Gujarat State Commission for Women

Under the Gujarat State Commission for Women Act 2002, the State government with the major objectives of encouraging women rights along with their social, economic and educational development initiated this commission in 2005.

Under this, there is a women helpline being operated for resolving legal issues of women which tries to address the most critical issue of violence against women that has a direct reflection of State Human Development. Any time of assistance and help to women can be sought by calling on a Helpline (1800 233 1111). Till now about 4451 women have received help and guidance on their problems from the commission.
