Anganwadi workers and helpers are getting designer sarees. The idea is to give identity to the women in this field and respectability to their profession. Each worker will be provided two sets of saree-blouse free annually. Gujarat is the first state in the country to implement this scheme.
In the year 2019-20, total 4,04,264 Saree has been provided as uniforms to anganwadi worker and anganwadi helper for the year 2017-18 & 2018-19. In the year 2019-20 modified budget proposal has been describes Rs. 1422.96 in that case, The total expenditure incurred is Rs. 1182.51/- Lac.
