  1. Out of 53029 Sanctioned AWCs 52649 AWCs are operational in 336 blocks and 33 districts.
  2. 65.04 lakhs beneficiaries have been enrolled in AWCs out of which 42.50 Lakh children of 0 months to 6 years of age, 14.37 Lakh Adolescent Girls & 8.25 Lakh Pregnant & Lactating women. DoodhSanjeevaniYojana - in the year 2016-17, total 11,65,757 children were benefitted from this scheme from 16726 AWCs.
  3. During 2015-16, a total of 27812 pregnant and lactating women received benefits and Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) has been approved and implemented by the Government on pilot basis in 53 selected districts across the country from FY 2010. Out of this Bharuch and Patan Districts has been selected in Gujarat State. IGMSY is implemented through using the platform of ICDS. The focal point of implementation is the Anganwadi Centre (AWC). As per cost sharing pattern adopted by Government of India cost sharing ratio between Centre and State is 60:40 from FY 2015.

  5. In the year 2015-16, total 7,43,576 Saree has been provided as an uniform to Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers. The total expenditure is Rs.28,62,76,760/- The Sarees have been designed by NIFT, Gandhinagar. Badges are being given to all AWWs and AHWs to give them identity in the village and also as motivation.
  6.  Mata Yashoda Gaurav Nidhi Insurance Scheme:Gujarat is the first state of India providing an insurance coverage for AWW and AWH. After the maturation of the insurance, the nominee of the insured receives an amount of Rs.50,000 in case of death of the insured and the interest of the money being deposited. 
    In 2015-16, total 92543 AWW and AWH were covered under the scheme. An expenditure of Rs. 6.16 crore was incurred by the State in 2015-16 while there is a provision of Rs. 6.16 crore for the year 2016-17.
